Dedryck Boyata joined Celtic from Manchester City in the summer of 2015.

Boyata has been on the books of Celtic since the summer of 2015 when he signed from Manchester City.
According to BBC Sport, the Scottish Premiership club had to pay the Premier League side a transfer fee of around £1.5 million in order to secure the services of the 26-year-old defender.
The Belgium international centre-back was then Celtic manager Ronny Deila’s first signing of the summer of 2015, as reported by BBC Sport.

The 26-year-old, who can also operate as a right-back, has established himself as an important player for Celtic and is one of the best players in the Scottish Premiership.
Boyata’s current contract with the Glasgow giants runs until June 2019, according to Transfermarkt.com.
Celtic manager Rodgers has suggested that he wants a new contract for the Belgian defender, who was on the books of Manchester City from 2006 until 2015.

“Dedryck has a year or so to go and there are one or two others,” Rodgers told Herald Scotland when asked who else he wants to keep at Celtic following new contracts offered to Scott Brown, Callum McGregor and Jozo Simunovic recently.
“It’s nice that so many players see this as a place they can develop and be successful. It’s nice to have them all on board for the journey.”
