Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic reportedly want John McGinn of Hibernian in the summer transfer window.

According to The Glasgow Evening Times, Celtic have had two offers for McGinn turned down by Scottish Premiership rivals Hibernian so far in the summer transfer window.
Hibs reportedly want £4 million for the Scotland international midfielder, while the Hoops’ second offer for the 23-year-old was claimed to be £1.75m.
Celtic boss Rodgers has admitted that he would have liked the transfer to have been completed by now.
The former Liverpool manager told The Glasgow Evening Times regarding McGinn: “Between Neil [Lennon] and I, it’s out of our hands It’s with the clubs. Hopefully for everyone’s sake it can be resolved, but it’s above me.
“I’d always have liked to have more in by now but the most important thing was ensuring we kept the players we wanted to stay. The likes of Tom Rogic and these guys.”

Late transfer
With Celtic having already started their Champions League qualifiers, one can understand why Rodgers wanted to sign McGinn by now.
After all, the key to a successful season for any footballer is a good pre-season, and to get to know his new teammates and the team.
True, McGinn knows the Scottish Premiership inside out, but it would have helped him a lot had he already started training with Celtic and had got to know Rodgers’s philosophy and ideas.
