Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has suggested to The Daily Record that Scott Sinclair is back to his best.

Rodgers made the comments about the former Aston Villa and Swansea City winger following Celtic’s 2-1 win against RB Leipzig at Celtic Park in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

Sinclair worked hard throughout the match and had some good touches, and there were signs that the winger is getting back to his best.

The 29-year-old enjoyed a strong debut campaign for Celtic in 2016-17 since his move from Villa in the summer of 2016 for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £3 million.

The Englishman was not great for the Hoops last season, while his performances in the opening weeks and months of this campaign have bee underwhelming.

Celtic manager Rodgers thinks that Sinclair is getting back to his best, which is certainly great for the Hoops in their quest to win the Scottish Premiership title and progress to the knockout rounds of the Europa League this season.

Rodgers told The Daily Record: “We want all the boys back, but this is what you want as a coach – the guys who have come into the team, Scott Sinclair looks back to his level, Ryan coming in has been like signing a new player so it’s brilliant.”
