Brendan Rodgers Celtic side are thought to be keen to bring in Chelsea forward Dominic Solanke this summer.
Brendan Rodgers has hinted in the Daily Mail that Celtic will continue to look towards the English market for players.
Contractual rules make it easier for Scottish clubs to poach players from England for cheap, when their contracts are expiring.
Celtic benefitted from the ruling when they snapped up Moussa Dembele for a bargain price last summer.
And it is believed that the Bhoys are trying to push through a similar deal for Chelsea striker Dominic Solanke this time around.
Celtic can reportedly sign Solanke for around £400,000 (Daily Record), in a deal which looks like it could be a major bargain.
And although Rodgers would not confirm that Celtic were interested in Solanke, he did suggest that part of his transfer strategy is to take youngsters from England.
“This is a huge club that will attract players no matter, but the compensation situation up here means it is a very attractive offer for a young player, his family and an agent to think you can come out of England maybe and come up to a huge club,” Rodgers said.
“Unfortunately, there is only so many of them that can play in the first team – but there is a raft of talent and it would be silly for us not to tap into that when the right profile of player becomes available.”
Celtic’s move for Dembele last year has proved to be a major success, with the striker enjoying a brilliant debut season in Glasgow.
The striker has gone on to net over 30 goals for the Bhoys, and Celtic now look set to make a huge profit on the forward, if he does leave the club.
