James Forrest scored hat-trick as Celtic beat Partick Thistle.

Brendan Rodgers has showered heaps of praise on Celtic winger James Forrest after he produced a superb performance against Patrick Thistle on Saturday.
The 26-year-old scored a hat-trick as the Bhoys emerged 3-2 victorious in their Scottish Cup fifth round tie.
Forrest, who has progressed from the club’s youth academy, has established himself as a key player in Brendan Rodgers’ side.

This season he has been getting more regular opportunities, especially after Patrick Roberts got injured, and he is making full use of it.
The winger, who scored against Brechin City in the fourth round of the competition, opened his account after two minutes, and quickly added another inside the first 10 minutes.
Forrest completed his hat-trick in the 53rd minute, rounding off a terrific performance.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has praised Forrest saying the winger was “absolutely brilliant”.

“James was absolutely brilliant,” said Rodgers, as quoted by the Scottish Sun.
“You see how his game has really come on again this year. He has become a really effective player. He’s technically very good, he’s one of the best receivers of the ball I’ve ever seen.
“Whether it wide or central, he’s got a wonderful touch and moving away. Now he’s added goals – he’s got a real hunger to score.”
Although Rodgers will be happy to have progressed into the next round, concerns remain over Celtic’s defensive frailties before their Europa League clash against Zenit St Petersburg.
