Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic side are set to square off against Graeme Murty’s Rangers in the Scottish Cup on Sunday.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers addressed the media yesterday ahead of his side’s Scottish Cup semi-final clash with Rangers at Hampden Park on Sunday, and shared how he has banned his players from interacting with all forms of media in the build up to the game, as quoted by the Scotsman.

The Hoops currently sit comfortably at the top of the Scottish Premiership table, 13 points clear of the Gers, and are on course to win back-to-back trebles, having won the Betfred Cup earlier this season.

Celtic's head coach Brendan Rodgers talks during a press conference in Brussels on September 26, 2017 on the eve of the Champions League group B) football match against RSC Anderlecht.

Old Firm clashes are notoriously hard to call, however, and they will surely be in for a tough afternoon against Graeme Murty’s men on Sunday.

Rodgers spoke to reporters during his pre-match press conference, and shared how he has told his players to avoid interacting on all media platforms ahead of this weekend’s Old Firm clash, as quoted by the Scotsman:

Manager of Celtic Brendan Rodgers looks on during the Betfred Cup Semi-Final at Hampden Park on October 21, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

“It’s important the players relax and stay focused and avoidance is a good way to do it. Avoid all the newspapers and media. There’s always plenty of hype in these games but no matter the occasion, we don’t need to magnify a Celtic v Rangers match, whatever the competition.”

If Celtic do in fact go on to beat Rangers on Sunday, they will be strong favourites to win the competition, and subsequently secure their second consecutive treble – something that would be a quite incredibly feat in the modern era.
