Celtic managed to pick up a 1-1 draw against Borussia Monchengladbach yesterday.
Brendan Rodgers has revealed to FourFourTwo that he told his Celtic team to play with ‘personality’ before their match against Borussia Monchengladbach last night.
Celtic were outplayed by the Bundesliga side when they visited Celtic Park last month, and picked up a 2-0 victory.
However, the Bhoys were much improved yesterday – and they managed to collect a credible 1-1 draw.
Celtic had fallen behind, but Moussa Dembele fired Rodgers’ side back level in the second half.
And Celtic could then have gone on to win the match, if they had been more clinical in the final third.
The draw means Celtic now have an uphill task to claim third place in their Champions League group – as they will have to beat either Manchester City or Barcelona in their final two fixtures.
However, Rodgers was still delighted with the way his Celtic side performed against Gladbach.
“I said to them in order for us to improve and be better we need to play with personality,” the Northern Irish boss enthused. “The personality we showed in the game was outstanding.
“We were very brave on the ball, we built the game, created chances, had speed in our counter-attack and had chances to win.”
Celtic’s next match comes at the weekend, when they take on Inverness in Scottish Premiership action.
