Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic side remain unbeaten in domestic action this season.

Brendan Rodgers has told the Daily Record that Celtic players have turned down his offer of giving them some time off.

Celtic’s squad have had a gruelling season, where the pressure has never really been off.

The Bhoys are still trying to protect their unbeaten record in domestic action.

But Rodgers insists that no Celtic player wants a break, as they are all so desperate to play for the Glasgow side.

“This season I’ve said to one or two players at times, ‘Listen, I want to give you that period of break’ and they didn’t want it,” he revealed.

“They wanted to work, to still be here.

“That’s down to the environment we’ve fostered here. The spirit’s good, they want to be in here, they want to prepare themselves and that’s quite unique.”

Celtic’s lengthy season, which began way back in July with a Champions League qualification match against Lincoln Red Imps, is coming to a close now – but there still remains challenges for Rodgers’ side.

Celtic are due to face Rangers in the Old-Firm derby on Saturday at Ibrox, in what looks set to be another test of their character.

Celtic have won four of the five matches that they have played against Rangers this season, as they have cruised to the Scottish Premiership title.

The Bhoys still have hopes of winning the treble too, with a Scottish Cup final against Aberdeen scheduled for next month.
