Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic were far too good for Hearts yesterday.
Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers spoke to reporters after his side’s emphatic 5-0 win over Hearts at Parkhead yesterday, and praised the performance of his team, although he did highlight one thing that disappointed him about their display, as quoted by the Daily Record.
The Hoops have been far from their best this season, although they have showed drastic signs of improvement in recent weeks, racking up three wins and 13 goals in their last three outings.
Celtic now sit in second spot in the Scottish Premiership table, just one point adrift of league leaders Hearts, and they have a game in hand over the Edinburgh outfit.
Rodgers addressed the media after his side’s superb win over Craig Levein’s men, and highlighted how his side could have won by an even grater margin had they been more clinical in front of goal, as quoted by the Daily Record:
“That’s a good Hearts team who are difficult to beat and have started the season well. But we were excellent. We scored five goals and if for a better final pass it could have been more.”
Next up for Celtic is their vitally important Europa League clash with RB Leipzig on Thursday night, and Rodgers’ side will have to be at their very best if they are to have any chance whatsoever of beating the Germans.
