Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Craig Gordon from Celtic in the January transfer window.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed to The Scottish Sun the discussion he has had with Craig Gordon.
The Scottish Sun has claimed that Chelsea are interested in signing Gordon from Celtic in the January transfer window.
It has been reported that the Premier League giants have made an offer of around £3 million in order to secure the services of the 34-year-old goalkeeper.
Celtic manager Rodgers, who was appointed in the role in the summer of 2016, has revealed the discussion he has had with the Scotland international regarding interest from Chelsea.
The former Swansea City and Liverpool manager has also disclosed that Gordon has not let it get into his head.
“I have spoken to him at length,” Rodgers told The Scottish Sun. “He’s a good guy. I was only aware of it on Thursday so I sent him a message and said: ‘Come in, let’s have a chat’.
“He’s cool and calm. It’s nice and flattering for him. Craig also respects the position he was in a few years ago when he wasn’t playing. There weren’t too many people offering him training facilities even.
“Celtic gave him an opportunity, and in the last six months his game, everyone can see, has gone to another level and regained his inter- national place. He understands that and is in a good place, but footballs a short career.”
Gordon is a very good goalkeeper and is playing for a massive club, but it would be hard to resist the temptation of joining Chelsea in the January transfer window.
Chelsea are one of the biggest clubs in the world and could end up winning the Premier League title this season.
Antonio Conte’s side are eight points clear at the to of the league table at the moment.
