Brendan Rodgers believes the ‘outstanding’ James Justin dealt brilliantly with the threat of Adama Traore during Leicester City’s 0-0 Premier League draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday, as he told the Foxes’ website.
Four days after he scored his third goal of a hugely-impressive season at Craven Cottage, the former Luton Town ace showcased his defensive qualities in the Black Country.
If Justin felt any nerves about coming up against arguably the fastest and most explosive winger in the country, he didn’t show it.
Yes, Traore got the better of Leicester’s versatile full-back on occasions, particularly during a second-half dominated by the home side, but Justin held his own as the Premier League’s dark horses claimed a creditable point.
“Traore, once the game opens up, he’s such a threat. But I thought James Justin was outstanding with his defensive qualities,” said Rodgers, who was also impressed by the way tough-tackling midfielder Hamza Choudhury provided support on the left-hand side.
“Hamza was there to support (Justin).

“If you leave (Traore) one vs. one, he’s so fast and powerful, he can go either way, but I thought the players dealt with that really well and snuffed out that threat.”
While Leicester slipped further adrift of a Manchester City side who are threatening to run away with the title, Wolves were also disappointed to drop points after one of their most complete performances in recent memory.
Nuno’s side were back to their belligerent best at the back – despite the absence of Willy Boly – while wing wonders Traore and Pedro Neto posed plenty of problems at the other end.
Wolves appear to be on the right track again, after a rather miserable festive period.
