Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic will play for the Under-23 side today, says Brendan Rodgers.

Rodgers has stated that the 25-year-old attacking midfielder will line up for Celtic in their Development League clash with Motherwell at Cappielow today.
The Australia international has not played for the first team in two months due to a serious knee injury and was on the substitutes’ bench during the Hoops’ Scottish Cup tie against Partick Thistle at the weekend.

Rodgers told The Daily Record about Rogic: “He’ll get some minutes with the Under-23 squad on Monday, he’s been out for about 10 weeks now so he needs game time.
“He’s been working very hard, but, of course, we want to get him game-time on Monday and that will give him confidence to play.
“I had to apologise to him. At 3-1, we should have been comfortable well before that, but when the late goal goes in, it changes your thought process, so unfortunately for him, he’s had to have to wait.”

Good plan
Celtic will take on Zenit Saint Peterburg at Celtic Park in the first leg of the round of 32 tie of the Europa League on Thursday evening.
Rogic is unlikely to start the match against the Russian club, but if he gets some valuable minutes today, then he would be in a good position to come off the bench against Zenit.
The former Central Coast Mariners star is one of the best attacking midfielders in the Scottish Premiership and will be important for Celtic in the final weeks and months of the season.
