Brendan Rodgers praises Celtic midfielder Scott Brown.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has praised Scott Brown’s willingness to reinvent himself, as reported by The Glasgow Evening Times.
Brown is one of the best midfielders in the Scottish Premiership and is a key player in the current Celtic team. The 31-year-old Scotland international has been playing well for the Bhoys this season.
Rodgers, who was appointed the Celtic manager in the summer, has praised the former Hibernian star.
“When I came in here, people were talking about Scott not being able to run any more, that he was struggling fitness-wise,” Rodgers told The Glasgow Evening Times.
“I probably sensed it a wee bit from him when I spoke to him in the summer, he maybe felt he was getting towards that.
“But if you look after your body and your lifestyle, if you devote your life to being the best you can be – I want to help the players see that side of it.
“He has changed little things about his game and his diet. Changing a little can change a lot for you, in your mindset.”
Celtic are going strong in the Scottish Premiership at the moment and are firm favourites to win the title.
The Glasgow giants have picked up 31 points from 11 matches so far this season. The Hoops are a point clear of second-placed Aberdeen with a game in hand.
Celtic will return to action on Friday evening when they take on Kilmarnock away from home at Rugby Park in the Scottish Premiership.
The Bhoys are also playing in the group stage of the Champions League this season after a two-year absence.
Rodgers’s side will take on Barcelona at Celtic Park in Group C next week.
