Rodgers worked with Brown when he was in charge of Celtic, and the former Liverpool boss has said that the Scottish midfielder is a much better footballer than people give him credit for.
Rodgers told The Daily Record about Brown: “He’s a much better player than people give him credit for.
“There’s absolutely no doubt, if he wanted to he could have played at the top end of the Premier League – one, because of his personality and two, because of his ability.
“I couldn’t speak highly enough of him, what an incredible player he was for me.”
Celtic legend
Brown has been on the books of Celtic since 2007 and is an absolute legend at the Glasgow giants.
The 34-year-old has won the Scottish Premiership title as many as 10 times during his time at Celtic Park.
The Scotsman has also won the Scottish Cup five times and the Scottish League Cup on six occasions.
There were question marks a couple or so years ago on whether Brown can maintain his current standards, but he has answered his critics well.
The 34-year-old played well yet again this season, and he will be determined to make it 10 league titles in a row for Celtic during the 2020-21 campaign.
According to WhoScored, Brown scored two goals in 29 Scottish Premiership games, scored twice in three Scottish League Cup matches, and one in two Scottish Cup ties for the Hoops this season.
