The highly-rated Celtic youngster recently made his debut for the Under-20 side.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has told BBC Sport that Karamoko Dembele must be left alone to develop at the club.
The 13-year-old became something of a hit in the last week as he was brought on as a substitute for Celtic’s Under-20 side.
That sparked widespread interest in him, with highlight reels of his undeniable ability soon flooding social networking sites.
It has already sparked widespread optimism, with Celtic fans hoping they may have a superstar player on their hands in the years to come.
First, he must be allowed to develop, though, and Rodgers has urged that Dembele be left alone to do so.
He told BBC Sport: “I don’t want to speak too much on it because the coverage it has got is not right for the boy.
“This is a 13-year-old kid who’s a talented player but at 13 he just needs to be left alone. Let them develop him, he’s got a lot to learn and a lot to improve in his game.”
Unfortunately for Rodgers, the attention around Dembele is only likely to keep growing after this recent showing.
Playing with players much older than him is an achievement in itself and clearly shows how impressed those behind the scenes are by talent.
Indeed, if he continues on this current path it would not be surprising to see him making his Celtic debut before too long.
For now, he must focus on developing as Rodgers says, and the Celtic boss must focus on his first team, who currently sit top of the Scottish Premiership after seven games of the campaign.
