Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers says that he wanted Ben Chilwell at Liverpool.

Rodgers was the manager of Liverpool from the summer of 2012 until October 2015.
The former Celtic boss has disclosed that while he was at Anfield, he wanted to secure the services of 22-year-old Leicester defender Chilwell.
Rodgers told The Mirror about Chilwell: “I’m just in the door and I can see he’s a huge talent. I tried to take him to Liverpool when I was there – so I know how good he is.
“He wasn’t even in the first team then. But we were looking for a left-back and he was right at the top of the list.”

In demand
Chilwell is one of the best young left-backs in the Premier League and is playing well for Leicester at the moment.
According to WhoScored, the England international has made 29 appearances in the Premier League for the Foxes so far this season, providing two assists in the process.
The youngster has been linked with moves away from Leicester in the summer transfer window.
According to The Times, Manchester City are interested in signing the youngster in the summer transfer window.
Back in September 2018, The Telegraph reported of Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in securing the services of Chilwell in the summer of 2019.
