Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has told the club’s official Twitter page that Dedryck Boyata was outstanding against Aberdeen.
Boyata featured for Celtic in their 1-0 win against Aberdeen at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday afternoon.
The 27-year-old former Manchester City defender started the game and played for the entire 90 minutes, and manager Rodgers was pleased with the display produced by the Belgium international central defender.
Strong display
Boyata is one of the best defenders in the Scottish Premiership, and the performance of the Belgian for Celtic against Aberdeen was brilliant.
The 27-year-old – who earns £14,000 per week as salary, according to The Daily Star – was sent off against St. Johnstone in the Scottish League Cup on Wednesday, but the defender seemed to have put that behind him.
It is clear that for Celtic to be successful this season, the Glasgow giants need Boyata – who joined the Hoops from City in the summer of 2015 for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £1.5 million – to be on top of his game.
