Could Eoghan O’Connell leave Celtic in the January transfer window?

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has told The Scottish Sun that he could send Eoghan O’Connell out on loan in the January transfer window.
Rodgers has revealed that clubs are interested in the 21-year-old defender.
“We have had a couple of enquiries for Eoghan in terms of a loan,” Rodgers told The Scottish Sun. “I think he’s a young player that needs to play games. There’s a few clubs that are interested in him so we will see.
“He did very well in pre-season but the team has changed and he is not getting so much game time. So if he can get out on loan that will give him the game time he needs to develop.”
O’Connell is a talented and promising young defender, but competition for places in the Celtic first team is fierce.
The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international has not played as many matches as he would have liked to so far this season.
It would make sense for the youngster to leave Celtic in the January transfer window on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Celtic are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 34 points from 12 matches.
The Glasgow giants are 10 points clear of second-placed Aberdeen and have a game in hand.
The Bhoys will return to action on Wednesday evening when they take on Barcelona at Celtic Park in Champions League Group C.
Celtic will face Aberdeen in the final of the Scottish League Cup next weekend.
