“To play 500 games for Celtic is a real testament to your professionalism, your perseverance and persistence, and your quality. He was fantastic, and we gave him a round of applause in the changing room. To play that number of games for a club like this, with the pressure here, is fantastic. He himself has been fantastic.”

Next up for Celtic is a home game against Dundee on Saturday, followed by crucial away trips to Aberdeen and Rangers respectively.

And Brown will have to be on his best form, if his side are to finish the year with three more wins.
