Brendan Rodgers is happy at Celtic at the moment, but could he move to Tottenham Hotspur in the future?

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has been a huge success in Scotland, and there is little surprise that the former Liverpool boss has been linked with moves back to England.

According to The Daily Star, Premier League duo Arsenal and Chelsea have the former Swansea City boss on their radar.

Rodgers’s teams play attacking and attractive football, and his approach to football management would suit any top club in England.

Tottenham Hotspur, too, would be a good fit for the former Watford manager, although the North London outfit are doing pretty well under Mauricio Pochettino.

Spurs are going places and have finished in the top four of the Premier League for the third season in a row.

However, there will come a time when Pochettino will move on. Could Rodgers take over then?

When asked about becoming the Tottenham boss in the future, Rodgers told The Times: “I have three years’ contract left. Three plus seven equals ten. It’s a big thing for the supporters.

“There will be a point in the future when I would love to work in the Premier League again. But I have a responsibility to 60,000 passionate supporters, to the owners. I’ve a young squad, lads like young [Kieran] Tierney who can keep improving.

“People think if you are doing well, you should capitalise, you should change. But look how many managers are out of work six months later. There is so much uncertainty in football. Saturday you can walk on water. By Tuesday, Wednesday you are the devil.”

Future promising

Celtic have won the Scottish Premiership title for seven years in a row, and Rodgers clearly wants to clinch at least three more titles with the Glasgow giants.

The former Liverpool manager is loved and adored by the Celtic Park faithful, and it is hard to see him leave anytime soon.
