Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers linked up with Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge at Anfield.
Brendan Rodgers has admitted on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show, which was broadcast on 17th November, that Glasgow Celtic would not be able to sign Daniel Sturridge from Liverpool, even if the Reds wanted to sell the striker.
Rodgers got the best out of Sturridge during his time in charge at Anfield, and TalkSPORT pundit Micky Quinn suggested that Celtic could make a loan move to sign the England international.

However, although Rodgers admitted that he was a major fan of Sturridge, he insists that there is not a chance of the striker moving to Celtic Park.
“We wouldn’t be able to,” Rodgers said when asked whether Celtic could sign Sturridge.
“Danny is an outstanding player. He’s a great boy, Daniel, behind it all. He wants to play at the highest level. No matter where he plays, he will always get goals.”

Sturridge’s future at Liverpool has been called into question, as he has failed to break into the Reds’ starting line-up since Jurgen Klopp took charge.
West Ham United have been linked with Sturridge recently, and Rodgers has already admitted that Celtic simply do not have the wealth to compete with Premier League clubs for players at this moment in time.
Celtic, however, are looking to make additions in the near future, as Rodgers wants to add more quality to his squad.
Celtic have been linked with Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard recently (BBC Sport), as the January transfer window draws closer to opening.
