Glasgow Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has been linked with a move away from Ibrox.

In comments reported by Leicestershire Live, Brendan Rodgers has suggested that there is nothing in the reports claiming that he would like to sign Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos this summer.
Sky Sports reported in the wake of the former Celtic boss’s arrival at Leicester that he was interested in signing Morelos from the Gers following his outstanding season with Steven Gerrard’s side.
Morelos has scored 28 goals in all competitions for the Light Blues and leads the way at the top of the Scottish Premiership goalscoring charts, so it is not difficult to see why Premier League sides would take an interest in the Colombian.
However, Rodgers has played down any suggestion that he may be after the Rangers striker this summer, but he did add that he would be looking to add to his squad during the upcoming window.

“I think someone is trying to wind someone up,” he said, as reported by Leicestershire Live. “I never will comment on speculation of any player. My focus is on the group we have now, whether we can focus and get better as a group and then with the summer, we will look to strengthen and improve then.
“We understand where the team needs improving and we’ll look at the squad over the remainder of the season to see. Every year we want to improve and that’s something we’ll look at in the summer.”

It would not be a surprise if the Gers had plenty of offers to respond to during the summer. Morelos’s temperament gets him into trouble at times, but he is a ruthless goalscorer and is only going to get better in the coming years.
And the longer Rangers manage to hold onto him, the greater the chances of Gerrard’s men ending Rodgers’s former side’s dominance of the domestic game.
