Former Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has said that he is loving his ‘absolutely amazing’ life at Leicester City.

Rodgers stunned Celtic by resigning to become the Foxes’ manager in February.

The Northern Irishman, a boyhood Hoops fan, spent nearly three years at Parkhead and won all seven domestic trophies that he could have won during that time.

He was a roaring success in Glasgow, but the 46-year-old former Liverpool and Swansea City manager admits that he is thoroughly enjoying his life down South once again.

Speaking to a Q & A with Leicester fans via The Scottish Sun, Rodgers said: “Celtic are the club I supported as a boy and I loved every moment I was there.

“For me to leave there I knew I was going to have to, not just come to a club, but I had to come to a special club that was going to allow me to connect with the players and hopefully the supporters too.

“And for myself and my wife to leave what we had in Glasgow and come down here, it’s been absolutely amazing. I knew nothing about the Midlands. I’d lived all over the UK from Swansea to Glasgow to Liverpool to London, but I never knew anything about the Midlands at all.”

You could forgive Rodgers for being enthusiastic about his start to life in the Midlands – both on and off the pitch.

He lost his first game in charge of Leicester – a 2-1 defeat at Watford – but he has since won four on the bounce, scoring 11 and conceding three in that time.

Many Celtic fans will wish him every success, given the amount of trophies he delivered during his stint at Paradise, but many more will still feel a little raw about his sudden departure.
