Stuart Armstrong’s Celtic contract expires at the end of next season, but Brendan Rodgers is not worried about the situation.
Celtic’s Stuart Armstrong celebrates scoring
Brendan Rodgers has conceded that no announcement is imminent regarding Stuart Armstrong’s contract at Celtic, but insisted that he has no concerns about the midfielder’s future, the Daily Mail reports.
Armstrong has been sensational for the Hoops this season, scoring 13 times in the Scottish Premiership to play an integral role in helping the Hoops retain their top flight title this term.
However, questions regarding his future have arisen with his contract set to expire at the end of next season and following a report from The Sun that suggested that he planned to move on next summer.
But Rodgers has looked to play down any speculation that the 25-year-old could be on the move at the end of next season by hinting that the signs are currently promising.

“Stuart and I are having communication and I am sure that pretty soon we will look to get something sorted,” he said, as reported by the Mail.
“I wouldn’t say it is imminent or anything like that but there is no concern. He still has a year or so left.”

Given how well Armstrong has played this season, there is no question that getting him to commit the best years of his career to Parkhead will provide the squad with a major lift.
And it may perhaps also have an impact on how successful Celtic turn out to be in the transfer market as potential targets may see the club tying down their best players as an extremely encouraging sign about what direction the Hoops are heading in.
