Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has told Leeds Live that he felt Wesley Fofana was ‘outstanding’ against Leeds United on Monday night.
The Foxes headed to Elland Road for a potentially tricky game, but raced into a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Harvey Barnes and Youri Tielemans as Jamie Vardy caused mayhem on the break.
Stuart Dallas gave Leeds hope, but Vardy added a third and Tielemans scored from the spot to secure a 4-1 victory for Rodgers’ men.
One of the stars of the show for Leicester was defender Wesley Fofana, as the centre back produced a superb performance in the heart of Rodgers’ back line.
After the game, Rodgers branded Fofana ‘outstanding’, suggesting that he trusts him regardless of his age as he showed great maturity throughout.
“Outstanding,” said Rodgers. “Missing top internationals, but trust in the squad, regardless of age. Thomas excellent against Costa. Wesley had to move well. Maturity and defending,” he added.

This has to be pretty galling for West Ham United, as they attempted to sign Fofana in September, but Saint-Etienne rejected their £33million bid according to Sky Sports.
Just days later, Leicester agreed a £36.5million fee for Fofana, winning the race to land him – and what a start he has made in the Premier League.
The 19-year-old has shown an incredible reading of the game for his age, and whilst Fabian Balbuena has re-emerged at West Ham, the Hammers may live to regret not pushing harder to land Fofana, who looks set to become a Premier League star.
