Celtic are set to take on Bayern Munich tonight, and it is not clear whether Moussa Dembele will start.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers applauds the home fans at the final whistle as the team equal a 100 year old record of 62 games unbeaten during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match...

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has told the Guardian that Moussa Dembele was ‘absolutely outstanding’ in his side’s last away match.

Celtic ran out 3-0 winners against Aberdeen a week ago, with Dembele striking twice in the contest.

It has now been suggested that Dembele could start for Celtic against Bayern Munich in the Champions League at the expense of Leigh Griffiths.

And Celtic boss Rodgers has suggested that he feels that Dembele is not back to full fitness, after having to be carefully managed early on in the season.

Moussa Dembele of Celtic celebrates his goal, Celtic's third, during the Betfred Cup Semi-Final at Hampden Park on October 21, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

“It’s just been a process with Moussa – dipping him in for 30 minutes, then a bit longer,” Rodgers said. “Then at Aberdeen last week he was absolutely outstanding. He is a fantastic player.”

Picking between Dembele and Griffiths has been a real dilemma for Rodgers in recent times, as the pair are both so prolific for Celtic.

Dembele and Griffiths are two of the best strikers in Scottish football, and it will be crucial that Rodgers gets his decision right tonight.

Moussa Dembele celebrates his 2nd goal (Celtic's 4th) during the Betfred Cup Semi-Final at Hampden Park on October 21, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Celtic go into their match against Bayern as huge outsiders, but they are boosted from the fact that Jupp Heynckes’ side are without a lot of their key stars through injury.

If Celtic do pick up a victory against the German champions, it could lift them back into contention to take second place in their Champions League group.
