Celtic striker Moussa Dembele has been out injured, but Brendan Rodgers could call upon the French striker.

Brendan Rodgers has told Sky Sports that Moussa Dembele could feature for Celtic in the Scottish Cup Final.

Dembele has been out injured since picking up a hamstring problem when Celtic played Rangers back in April.

The French forward has been racing to get back to fitness, ahead of this weekend’s cup final against Aberdeen.

And Rodgers’ latest suggestion gives hope that the 20-year-old forward could play at Hampden Park.

“They’re never 100 per cent,” Rodgers said. “That’s the reality of it as a modern-day footballer and you’re playing so many games. I think we’re up towards 59 competitive games we’ll be now, and some of these boys have played international football as well.

“They will very rarely be at 100 per cent but we have to measure and gauge the risk of where he’s [Dembele] at. But hopefully he’ll be fine.

“He’s recovered well and he’s working hard and we’re hopeful that he’ll be able to join the squad.”

Dembele, himself, has admitted that he is desperate to represent Celtic against Aberdeen.

The former Fulham man has been one of Celtic’s best players so far this season, and is eager to help his side in their attempts to win the treble.

Rodgers’ men will complete an unbeaten domestic campaign, if they are able to avoid defeat against Aberdeen.

If Dembele isn’t fit enough to start on Saturday, Leigh Griffiths is likely to start up-front for the Bhoys.
