Celtic secured yet another win in the Scottish Premiership at Rugby Park on Friday night.

Brendan Rodgers heaped praise upon Stuart Armstrong after he put in yet another excellent display in Celtic’s win over Kilmarnock on Friday night. before explaining why he was also grateful to his predecessor Ronny Deila, The Scottish Sun reports.
The Hoops secured their 11th win in 12 Scottish Premiership games at Rugby Park as Armstrong’s strike just before half-time saw them bag a 1-0 win over Lee Clark’s men.
After the game, Rodgers expressed his delight at seeing the 24-year-old shine once again for the Bhoys, before complimenting Deila for the decision to bring him to Parkhead in the first place.
“Stuart’s developing very well and he’s getting better with every game. It’s also a big credit to the guy before me who brought him in,” he said, as reported by The Scottish Sun.

“I don’t think it will be very long before he gets in with Scotland because he’s got all the attributes.
“For international football you need good technique, good mobility and he’s tactically getting better all the time. He showed great composure, too, with his finish.”
Armstrong is already just one goal away from equalling the tally of goals he got during the entirety of Deila’s last campaign with the club, so it is surely fair to say that it is Rodgers that deserves much of the credit for his recent form.

And it is not just with goals that Armstrong has been contributing this term. His versatility was highlighted in the victory over Inverness before the international break as he was moved to right-back following an early injury to Mikael Lustig.
Plus, only James Forrest – another player that has discovered a new lease of life under Rodgers – and Kieran Tierney have contributed more league assists than the two that the former Dundee United man has provided this term.
