Celtic defender Kieran Tierney scored against Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership at the weekend.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has told the club’s official website that Kieran Tierney showed against Aberdeen that he is the quickest player in the squad.

Tierney scored for Celtic in their 2-0 victory over Aberdeen away from home in the Scottish Premiership at the weekend.

The 20-year-old left-back, who can also operate as a central defender, found the target for the Hoops at the Pittodrie Stadium in the 83rd minute.

Celtic manager Rodgers has praised the Scotland international defender for his goal against Aberdeen.

“Kieran won the race and showed he’s the quickest player in our squad,” Rodgers told Celtic’s official website.

“It was a wonderful finish. To run so quick and then get there and shoot with that power was fantastic.”

Tierney is one of the best young defenders in Europe, and the performances of the Scotland international so far this season have been very encouraging.

There have been a few matches in which the youngster could have done better, but there can be no doubt that the 20-year-old is going to get better in the coming years.

Blessed with pace, Tierney is a very energetic player who is as good at attacking as he is at defending.
