Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic won against St Johnstone in the Scottish Cup today.

Jonny Hayes is a peripheral figure at Celtic. Signed from Aberdeen in the summer of 2017 for a transfer fee reported by The Herald to be worth £1 million, the 31-year-old has managed to feature in just 28 matches in all competitions for Brendan Rodgers’s team, as stated on the Hoops’ official website.
According to Celtic’s official website, Hayes has made 11 starts and 17 substitute appearances for the Bhoys, scoring one goal in the process.
True, the former Leicester City man had a serious injury last season, but the winner has struggled to establish himself in the Celtic first team.
Hayes, though, was in action for the Bhoys against St. Johnstone at Celtic Park in the fifth round of the Scottish Cup on Sunday afternoon.
The former Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Aberdeen winger started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, and Celtic manager Rodgers was impressed with his performance.

Rodgers told BBC Sport: “Special mention for Jonny Hayes – hasn’t played a great deal but came into the game and played very well. Created an assist for James [Forrest] and he was excellent. Delighted for him.”
As expected, Celtic won the tie – 5-0 – and remain in the hunt for the domestic treble for the third season in a row.
