Dorus de Vries joined Celtic in the summer of 2016.

De Vries joined Celtic in the summer of 2016 after leaving Nottingham Forest in the Championship in England.
The 37-year-old was signed to provide competition to first-choice goalkeeper Craig Gordon, with the Dutchman having worked with Rodgers at Swansea City.

Rodgers told The Glasgow Evening Times about De Vries: “He is certainly a better player than on what people are judging him on really.
“He is a goalkeeper who has worked in the Premier League and worked at a level that tells you he is a really competent goalkeeper.”

First choice for now
The recent injury to Gordon means that for the next few weeks De Vries will be the first-choice goalkeeper at Celtic.
This is a good period for the Dutchman to show what he is capable of and perhaps make it harder for Gordon to get back into the team when the Scotlans regains full fitness.
Celtic have some important matches coming up, including Europa League games, and the 37-year-old will have to be on top of his game.
The Hoops will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Partick Thistle at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premiership.
