Leigh Griffiths has been playing well for Celtic and Scotland in recent weeks.
Griffiths has taken his game to a whole new level this season, and has established himself as the first-choice striker for Celtic and for the Scotland national football team.
The Scotland international striker has been scoring goals regularly this season, and remains one of the best players in the Scottish Premiership.
Celtic manager Rodgers has spoken highly of the 27-year-old striker and has outlined where the former Livingston and Dundee man has improved, and has praised him for rising to the challenges.
“You give credit to the boy,” Rodgers told The Glasgow Evening Times about Griffiths. “He has risen to the challenges that we spoke about last year.
“You see his focus now, his professionalism, the focus in his game. One of the things we spoke about in his game, especially if you are not a massive presence, is your lay-off. It has to be important.
“You look at that feature of his game now and the set-up play and lay-offs show the improvement.”
Griffiths has been on the books of Celtic since January 2014 when he joined from Wolverhampton Wanderers in England for a transfer fee reported by The Daily Mail to be worth £1 million when Neil Lennon – now in charge of Scottish Premiership rivals Hibernian – was the manager at Celtic Park.
The striker will be importance for Celtic as the season progresses, with the Glasgow giants aiming to win the Premier League title as well as progress to the knockout stages of the Champions League or drop to the Europa League.
