Brendan Rodgers has refused to give away whether he will start Moussa Dembele for Celtic against Anderlecht on Wednesday evening, when asked on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, which was broadcast on TalkSPORT on 25th September.

Celtic take on Anderlecht in the Champions League, in what is a hugely important contest for Rodgers’ side.

The Bhoys know that if they want to avoid finishing bottom of their Champions League group, then picking up a result in Belgium could be crucial.

And Celtic are buoyed by the news that Dembele could be fit for the contest.

The French striker is close to returning to full fitness after a hamstring injury, after coming through training and featuring against Rangers at the weekend.

But Rodgers was not keen to give away whether Dembele would start in the contest in midweek.

“We’ll see. You don’t expect me to tell you, do you,” he said, when asked if Dembele would start.

“You have to be careful with a hamstring injury. He’ll be in the squad.”

Celtic go into their match against Anderlecht on the back of a 2-0 win against Rangers at Ibrox.

The Bhoys lost their first Champions League group stage match heavily to PSG earlier this month.
