Brendan Rodgers names the Celtic player who was flawless against Albion Rovers

Celtic won against Albion Rovers in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup on Sunday.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has told BBC Sportsound (17:31) that he was pleased with the performance of Dedryck Boyata against Albion Rovers.

Boyata featured for Celtic against Rovers away from home in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup on Sunday afternoon.

The 26-year-old started at the Exsel Group Stadium and played for the entire 90 minutes, as the Bhoys won 3-0.

Scott Sinclair put the Hoops in the lead on the half-hour mark, Moussa Dembele doubled the advantage on 77 minutes, and Stuart Armstrong wrapped up the scoring in the 90th minute.

Celtic manager Rodgers has praised Boyata for his performance against Rovers.

“I was pleased with Dedryck Boyata, who hasn’t featured as much as he’d liked to,” Rodgers told BBC Sportsound (17:31). “He was flawless. He’s fit, strong and fast.”

Over the course of the 90 minutes at the Exsel Group Stadium on Sunday afternoon, hosts Rovers had just 28% of the possession, took one shot of which only one was on target, and failed to earn a single corner, according to BBC Sport.

Visitors Celtic had 72% of the possession, took 20 shots of which eight were on target, and earned six corners, according to BBC Sport.
