Brendan Rodgers must look again at Spartak’s Lorenzo Melgarejo, this time for Celtic.

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers should watch back this week’s tape of Rangers’ clash with Spartak Moscow.
This won’t be to check out Rangers, but should be to take a look at Lorenzo Melgarejo.
The Guardian reported in 2013 that Rodgers wanted to sign the Paraguayan for Liverpool from Benfica.
Available then for a cut price £7 million, the Reds missed out as Melgarejo moved to Russia.
Now 28, Melgarejo could be a very useful player for Brendan Rodgers.

He can play both at left-back and as a left winger, making eight appearances from full-back this season and a further four in attack.
This would be ideal for Celtic, who signed Emiliano Izaguirre as cover for Kieran Tierney in the summer on a one-year deal.
Melgarejo would give them a more useful option as he is able to play on the wing too.
He helped Spartak keep a clean sheet against Rangers at Ibrox and is likely to start in Russia in this week’s Europa League tie.
Brendan Rodgers should consider making a second attempt to sign the South American.
