Brendan Rodgers needs a spark to rejuvenate his Celtic side in the increasingly competitive Scottish Premiership.

After two years of domination Celtic are in the unfamiliar position of third in the Scottish Premiership table eight games in.
That owes as much to an uncharacteristically slow start from the Hoops as it does to increased competition from bitter rivals Rangers, Hearts and Hibs.
Brendan Rodgers has made it known he was not particularly satisfied with Celtic’s transfer business in the summer.
Losing star striker Moussa Dembele and his elite level pace and finishing has been damaging for Celtic.
Meanwhile on the other side of Glasgow, Rangers have been busy adding quality and quantity to their squad under new boss Steven Gerrard.
So Rodgers must take a rare chance to lure one of the record all-time goalscorers in English Premier League history north of the border for a swansong that would suit both parties.

Bournemouth striker Jermain Defoe is currently the seventh highest scorer in the history of the Premier League with 162 goals, just one behind sixth-placed Robbie Fowler.
But at 36 the super fit Defoe finds himself kicking his heels on the Cherries bench with just four appearances this season.
Eddie Howe’s side have started the season in brilliant form and sit in sixth place meaning Defoe’s chances for game time are marginalised.

Defoe is known for keeping himself in supreme shape and despite his advancing years could be a real threat for another 18 months north of the border.
With Dembele gone Defoe could be the difference maker and Rodgers cannot afford to pass up the opportunity to try and lure him to Celtic Park.
