Could Celtic remain unbeaten in the Scottish Premiership this season?

Celtic - Brendan Rodgers Press Conference

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has suggested to The Sunday Post that his side will lose a game in the Scottish Premiership this season.

The Glasgow giants are going strong in the league at the moment and are running away with the title.

The Hoops are currently at the top of the standings with 76 points from 26 matches, 24 points clear of second-placed Aberdeen.

Of the 26 Scottish Premiership matches Celtic have played so far, the Bhoys have won 25 and drawn one.

Given the form that Rodgers’s side are in at the moment and the strength of the squad, it is hard to see them lose a single league fixture between now and the end of the season.

Celtic manager Rodgers, though, believes that Celtic will lose at least once in the final weeks and months of the season.

“Listen, like I said before, we will lose a game, for sure,” Rodgers told The Sunday Post. “What we have to do is just resist as much as we possibly can. Perform how we want to, and if we do that then we can’t do any more.”

It is quite modest of Rodgers, but the former Liverpool and Swansea City manager is right in not getting carried away.

One suspects that the Celtic players will give their all to make sure that they do not lose a match, but the fans should not be too disappointed if the team do lose one or two games.
