Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has told the Daily Express how he is waiting to catch Celtic striker Moussa Dembele out for his time keeping.

Dembele is not one to be rushed by plans, but Rodgers says that the striker has a happy knack of wandering in to training just on time.

And, after Kris Commons questioned Dembele recently, Rodgers has insisted that he has no questions about the young forward’s professionalism.

“He’s a really good boy and super-professional,” Rodgers said.

Moussa Dembele celebrates his 2nd goal (Celtic's 4th) during the Betfred Cup Semi-Final at Hampden Park on October 21, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

“He does walk slow. The boys will tell you. He virtually breaks into a walk!

“He times his run perfectly for team meetings. We are all waiting to fine him for being late!

“He has this incredible knack. We don’t know if he hides at the back and just steps in.

“But, seriously, Moussa is a very relaxed boy. He’s laid-back but he’s professional.”

Dembele has been linked with a move away from Celtic recently, with a range of Premier League sides interested.

It is believed that Brighton & Hove Albion are leading the race for the French youth international’s signature, but Rodgers has gone out of his way to confirm that Celtic have received no bids for the striker yet.

Dembele is regarded as one of the top talents in Scotland, and Celtic would demand a big fee, if they were to sell the former Fulham man.

Dembele has hit eight goals in 21 appearances for the Bhoys this term, and is currently training with the rest of Celtic’s squad over the winter break.
