Brendan Rodgers has now taken charge of his first few training sessions as Celtic manager.
Brendan Rodgers has told the Daily Record that Celtic’s youngsters have already caught his eye through their performances in training.
Rodgers has now taken charge of two training sessions at Celtic, as he assesses the quality he has in his new squad.
The Northern Irish boss has already publicly spoken about how impressed he has been with Kieran Tierney’s showings during his initial time at the club.
And Rodgers syas that there are other youngsters at Celtic who have shown the potential required to follow in Tierney’s footsteps and break into the first-team.
“I look at the other guys as well,” he said.
“Some of the young kids here in the training sessions, with the intensity and tempo, dealt with it really well.
“That was two training sessions I put on at the very top level of the game. So it is still very early and it’s not all about the talent.
“You also need to have to have the personality to succeed. That will help determine whether your talent is wasted or not.”
Rodgers has already acted to tie down Tierney, with some doubts developing over the full-back’s future.
Tierney’s impressive performances had caught the eye of Premier League clubs, but the defender has now penned a five-year deal with Celtic, ending any speculation over whether he could move this summer.
Rodgers has already been a manager who has been willing to give youth a chance.
Rodgers is credited with helping the likes of Raheem Sterling, Joe Allen and Jordon Ibe develop during his time at Liverpool and Swansea.
