Celtic were magnificent against RB Leipzig last night.
Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers addressed the media in the aftermath of his side’s superb 2-1 win over RB Leipzig in the Europa League last night, and highlighted how his players’ aggression and a specific playing identity formed the corner stone of their victory over the Germans, as quoted by the Daily Mail.
The Hoops have been in fine form since losing to Leipzig last month, winning four consecutive matches, and notching up an impressive 15 goals in the process.
Celtic now have every chance of qualifying for the knock-out stages of the Europa League. They are level on six points with second placed Leipzig, with two games remaining – Rosenborg away and Salzburg at home.
The Glasgow giants are also in a strong position domestically, and sit just one point adrift of league leaders Hearts, with a game in hand over the Edinburgh outfit.
Rodgers addressed the media last night, and shared how he is pleased that a certain type of aggression and playing identity has returned to his team over the past few weeks, as quoted by the Daily Mail:
“We showed no fear, played with aggression and brought our identity to the game. That’s what we have been seeing this team returning to over the last six or seven weeks. It’s nice they can do it not just domestically but against one of the best teams in Europe. So it’s a fantastic victory and one I’m very proud of.”
Next up for Celtic is a trip to Livingstone on Sunday, and Rodgers’ side will be looking to chalk up their fifth consecutive victory in all competitions.
