The Celtic squad has been stretched to the limit by a busy schedule of late.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has insisted to the Daily Mail that there will be no fitness issues for his side’s trip to Aberdeen this weekend.

The Hoops have had a busy week, first playing Rangers in the Scottish League Cup semi-final on Sunday and following that up with a trip to Ross County on Wednesday.

The latter saw the Northern Irishman make eight changes to his team for the game, with big names such as captain Scott Brown being forced to sit out.

The Bhoys skipper, alongside several other players, is likely to return for Saturday’s clash against the Dons and Rodgers has insisted that whoever is picked will be fresh.

“They will be fresh for the game at the weekend,” he told the Daily Mail.

“So in terms of that, it could not have gone any better. The game was played at a real good tempo and intensity. Every single one of them is totally fit. They are all fit and playing at a tempo.”

It remains to be seen if Rodgers continues to employ a rotation policy for the remainder of the campaign.

It seems extremely likely that he will, with Celtic’s upcoming schedule making it near impossible for them to continue naming a consistent team.

His team have 15 games in all competitions before the turn of the year, with nine of those coming in December alone.

That is a busy schedule, to say the least, and it will take expert handling from Rodgers to ensure that his key men remain fit for all of those games.
