Celtic’s forgotten defender Marvin Compper is injured again.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has told The Scottish Sun that Marvin Compper is unlikely to be available to face Rosenborg in the Champions League next week.
The Bhoys are into the next round of the Champions League qualifiers after beating Alashkert 3-0 on Wednesday night, going through 6-0 on aggregate.
Moussa Dembele’s brace and a James Forrest strike sent Celtic through with ease, and they have now set up a second round qualifying tie with Norwegian side Rosenborg next week.
It was a mostly positive night against Alashkert, but one piece of negative news was the sending off of Jozo Simunovic, meaning he will miss the first leg of the Rosenborg tie.
Celtic are hardly blessed with numbers in defence as it is, and whilst Dedryck Boyata may be rushed back after his World Cup exploits, many will be left wondering about January signing Marvin Compper.
The German centre back, 33, joined Celtic from RB Leipzig in January, and was supposed to be a veteran presence to help ease Celtic’s defensive worries, but he has been a major flop so far.

So far, Compper has made just one appearance for Celtic, leading to him becoming a forgotten man in Glasgow, as fans have been left wondering just where he is and why he isn’t playing.
Now, Rodgers has finally offered an update about the former Fiorentina man, telling The Scottish Sun that he has an issue with his abductor, and he is now unlikely to face Rosenborg as his woes continue.
“It gives us a problem but that’s all it’s been for us,” said Rodgers. “Every pre-season there is always an issue with centre-halves. Marvin has a problem with his abductor, so we’ll see how that is, but it’s highly unlikely he’ll be available,” he added.
