Celtic are still unbeaten in domestic action so far this season.
Brendan Rodgers has told Sky Sports that Celtic have made a huge improvement domestically this season.
Former Celtic boss Ronny Deila guided the Bhoys to back-to-back Scottish Premiership titles during his two seasons at the Glasgow club.
However, Celtic have been far more convincing in victory under Rodgers, with no Scottish side able to challenge them so far.
Celtic are unbeaten in domestic action to date, and they are already nine points clear at the top of the league.
Rodgers was keen not to take credit for Celtic’s improvement, though, and insisted that their squad deserve all the praise.
“The huge improvement that’s been made domestically is a huge credit to the players and how well they’ve worked and how hard they’ve worked,” Rodgers said. “And it’s step by step.”
Despite Celtic’s improvement in domestic games, they have still found competing in the Champions League difficult.
Celtic did manage to pick up a point from their match against Manchester City, but they were well beaten by both Borussia Monchengladbach and Barcelona.
Rodgers admits that Celtic face a huge challenge in European football, but he believes they can prove to be more competitive in the years to come.
“It’s a major challenge for us but it’s a great challenge to have,” the former Liverpool boss added.
“Each year we can arrive here we can improve on it and hopefully get to the latter stages consistently.
“Let’s see how the next game goes and take it from there.”
Celtic are next in action later this evening, when they take on Gladbach in Germany.
