Celtic round off their Champions League campaign tonight.
Brendan Rodgers has told The Daily Mail that he is hoping Celtic can beat Anderlecht tonight and give the Hoops’ “incredible” fans a nice conclusion to the Champions League campaign.
Parkhead plays host as the Belgian side visit Glasgow in the knowledge that they must beat Rodgers’s side by at least three goals if they want to finish third in Group B and go into the Europa League.
With that in mind, Celtic, who beat them 3-0 in the previous fixture, are overwhelming favourites to seal their progress into Europe’s secondary competition tonight.
The Hoops have been well supported throughout the group-stage campaign, be it in Brussels, Munich or Paris, and the Northern Irish manager is hopeful that his side can give Celtic fans something to cheer about this evening, other than the Europa League spot.
He told The Mail: “It has been absolutely brilliant.
“The supporters have been incredible for us home and away but it would be nice for us to finish with a victory at home and take us to six points which will show a real level of progress.'”
It will be interesting to see if Rodgers risks Moussa Dembele, who missed the 5-1 win over Motherwell through injury, or whether he goes with Odsonne Edouard or Leigh Griffiths up top.
