The Celtic boss backs Tom Rogic to score over 15 goals this season.

Brendan Rodgers has told The Glasgow Evening Times that the “exceptional” Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic can score over 15 goals this season.

The 24-year-old looks set for another productive season with the Hoops.

Rogic, who managed 11 goals in all competitions last term, looks to have picked up where he left off and has already scored twice in the Champions League for Celtic.

The Australia international is another player who looks to have improved a lot under the Northern Irishman, who replaced Ronny Deila last summer.

And Rodgers claims that Rogic is capable of reaching and exceding the 15-goal mark this time around.

“He is an exceptional player and the beauty with Tom is that he has come back fit,” he said to The Glasgow Evening Times.

“Tom is one of the players right up to speed fitness wise as he been training and playing games for virtually all of his off-season.

“He has come back and you see the level of his game. He’s a fantastic talent and if he can stay fit this year, he can go on and get 15-plus goals.”

Rogic is a fine talent and, at 24, he is only going to get a lot better for the Bhoys.

The big thing for him is staying fit. If he can do that then few will back against him reaching a minimum of 15 goals.
