Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has told the club’s official website that the one thing he has seen during his time at the club is that there is a hunger for success in his squad.

Rodgers took charge at the club this summer after Ronny Deila decided to depart at the end of last season.

He has so far enjoyed success, leading them to the top of the Scottish Premiership and into the Champions League group stages for the first time in two years.

Tuesday sees them taking on Barcelona in their first game and he says his side are hungry to do well, despite the odds being stacked against them.

“As a manager in every game you go into you have to believe you can get a positive result,” he told the club’s official website.

“What I’ve seen in our team since I’ve worked with them is that they have a real hunger and desire to do very well in every training session and every game.”

It remains to be seen if Celtic can get a positive result at the Nou Camp on Tuesday.

They travel there full of confidence after the 5-1 win over Rangers at the weekend, while the lack of expectation on them is another advantage.

Barcelona are a top side on their worst days though and it will take more than hunger to ensure they come away with the result they want.
