Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has heaped praise on captain Scott Brown, speaking to the club’s official website.

The Scottish midfielder was in impressive form on Saturday as he capped off an all-round solid display against Dundee with the winning goal.

It was a fine end to a fine week for Brown, who was also one of Celtic’s star men in the 3-3 draw with Manchester City in midweek.

It continues his fine form at the beginning of this season and helped his side extend their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.

And following the game his manager was full of praise for his captain, labelling him as wonderful.

“He’s highly gifted technically and tactically he’s really impressed me,” Rodgers told the club’s official website.

“Physically you saw him today and you have seen him in other games that he’s super strong and super fit. He’s also a tough guy mentally. He deserves all the credit he gets. He’s a wonderful captain for me and I still think he can improve.”

Rodgers will certainly be hoping there is more to come from Brown as Celtic look to dominate the league this season.

The Hoops are currently first in the table and have picked up 19 points from their first seven games.

That leaves them four points ahead of second-placed Aberdeen, although a win in their game in hand could see them increase that to seven.

To do so they will need their stars to keep up their current fine form, starting when they take on Motherwell after the international break.
