Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers worked with Rangers duo Steven Gerrard and Gary McAllister at Liverpool.

Former Liverpool midfielder Gerrard have been appointed as the manager of Rangers and will take charge of the Ibrox club from next month.
McAllister will be the assistant manager at the Gers, having played with Gerrard at Liverpool.
The former Scotland international midfielder also worked with Celtic manager Rodgers when he was the boss of the Merseyside outfit.
Rodgers appointed McAllister as a first-team coach at Liverpool in the summer of 2015.

“We had a good pre-season together and got to know each other well and he will offer Steven good insight into the football life up here,” Rodgers told The Scotsman about McAllister. “He’ll know what the club is like and the demands and expectations.
“Gary has a good knowledge of Scottish football and the expectancy of Rangers. He has a nice way about him, is happy in his life and passionate about football and that shows at work every day.”

Good appointment
McAllister is hugely experienced in football, both as a coach and as a player, and he should prove to be a good addition to Gerrard’s team at Rangers.
This will be Gerrard’s first managerial role, and he will need all the experience that he can around him in order to be a success at Ibrox.
Rangers will be looking to close the gap on Old Firm rivals Celtic in the Scottish Premiership next season.
