Celtic will face Old Firm rivals Rangers at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premiership this weekend.

Celtic's James Forrest celebrates scoring their second goal with teammates

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has told the club’s official website that James Forrest has looked very good in training.

Forrest, who has been in good form this season, returned to full training this week after two weeks on the sidelines.

Rodgers has revealed that the 25-year-old winger has looked good in training.

The Celtic manager has also given an update on the injury situation of Tom Rogic, claiming that the 24-year-old attacking midfielder is still three or four weeks away from making a competitive return.

“He is fine,” Rodgers told Celtic’s official website about Forrest. ”He has trained this week and has been very good.

“James has been in great form and he hasn’t been out for too long for his fitness levels to drop, and he has looked very good in training. It’s great for him to be back.”

“Tom Rogic is back out on the training field but he is still three or four weeks away,” added Rodgers about Rogic. “He is looking really good but he is still a little bit of time away. Everyone else is fine.”

Celtic are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 79 points from 27 matches.

The Hoops are 27 points clear of second-placed Aberdeen and are set to clinch the championship this season.

The Bhoys will return to action on Sunday afternoon when they take on Rangers at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premiership.

Celtic will head into the match against Old Firm rivals Rangers as firm favourites, but the chances of the Gers picking up a point cannot be written off just yet.
