Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic are playing Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League at the moment.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has explained on BT Sport 3 why he did not include Stuart Armstrong and Scott Sinclair in the starting lineup against Paris Saint-Germain this evening.

The Glasgow giants are taking on French powerhouse PSG away from home in Champions League Group B at the moment.

The Hoops have no chance of progressing to the last-16 stage of Europe’s premier club competition, but they can still end up third and drop to the Europa League.

Things are not going well for Celtic at Parc des Princes in Paris at the moment, as they are currently 4-1 down despite taking an early lead.

Scott Sinclair and Stuart Armstrong are two of the best players in the current Celtic squad, but manager Rodgers did not include either player in the starting lineup.

The former Liverpool and Swansea City manager has explained why he decided to place the 28-year-old winger and the 25-year-old midfielder on the substitutes’ bench.

While explaining how starting Tom Rogic was a tactical move, Rodgers said on BT Sport 3 in the build-up to the game between PSG and Celtic (7:31pm, Wednesday, November 22, 2017): “It’s also one where Scotty after when he came back from the international break, him and the likes of Stuart Armstrong, sort of little niggles in and around their hamstrings and calves, so it’s not a game to rest especially when we have a huge squad, and also we have a big game at the weekend.”
